The Aalto University School of Art and Design (formerly known as University of Art and Design Helsinki) is dedicated to design, audiovisual communication, art education and art. The new Aalto University ( http://www.aaltouniversity.info/en/ ) has been inaugurated on 1 January 2010 and was created in 2009 through a merger of the Helsinki School of Economics, the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and the Helsinki University of Technology.   Note that the new Departments denomination corresponds to the former Schools denomination.
