The School of Design works according to the vision, strategy and policies of the University and shares the same values. The goals in education and research are the high level of quality, international co-operation, rich interaction between teaching and research and focus on relevant and actual research topics in the area of design.Our values are humanism, sustainable development, designing better environments and making an impact in the society.
Our key areas of expertise are design research, artistic practice and design education. We do research with other schools and universities, along with companies from various areas. Our graduates have qualifications to work as experts in design leadership and as designers in industrial production, cultural institutions, media as well as private entrepreneurs and researchers.
This year, the Department on Design offers two new MA programmes: Creative Sustainability and International Design Business Management. Altogether, the School of Art and Design offers 25 master´s programmes in English. Read more

The brightly-coloured fur sweater, designed by Siidaa Aberra, was placed second in the international Remix competition in Milan. The winner was Chiu Yu Hang, representing Hong Kong, and the third place went to Guliya Baykieva, a Russian designer representing Germany. Read more
