Fields of focus at the Departement of Art and Media Pori are research and tuition in visual culture and media, and research and tuition connected to producing art, media and culture. Multidisciplinary research as well as new networks connecting science and art are developed at the departement.

The Department of Art and Media Pori is located in the University Consortium of Pori. The Consortium houses experts from 190 different fields and 2500 students.

The departement collaborates with several regional, national and international communities and actors in the field of visual culture and media production.
