The school’s Master's degree programmes received 1,027 applications, which is over 30 per cent more than in 2009. The proportion of foreign applicants to Master's degrees continued to grow: this year, applicants from outside of Finland made up nearly 37 per cent of the total, whereas last year’s figure was just under 33 per cent. The countries with the most applications were China, South Korea and Turkey.
Based on the number of applicants, the three most popular Master's degree programmes were Industrial and Strategic Design and Graphic Design (taught in Finnish) and New Media (in English).
There were 2,813 applicants to Bachelor's degree programmes, of whom 123 were admitted. The most popular Bachelor’s programmes were Film and Television, Graphic Design, Photography, and Interior Architecture and Furniture Design.
